Tokinoka is a blended malt produced at the White Oak distillery, situated in the city of Akashi. The distillery was built in 1888, but it has been producing whisky since 1919. Until 1984 small-scale production of blended whisky was performed here, exclusively for the Japanese market. In 1984 the capacity was enhanced and the blended whisky began to be exported. Since 2007 the still produces single malt whisky. Tokinoka is composed from various types of malt spirits, matured in a variety of casks.
Nose: Very fruity, with apricots, dried fruits, honey, Japanese plums, vanilla, oak, caramel and raisins.
Palate: Sweet and fruity, with dried plums, figs, dates, oak, honey, molasses, caramel and vanilla.
Finish: Short and fruity, with fruits and honey.
