Kincaple is another mysterious whisky released by Invergordon Distillers as a part of their Malts of Scotland series. Just like in case of other bottlings in the range, such as Ferintosh or Druichan, Invergordon does not reveal the distillery name, only the region. Kincaple whisky comes from Lowlands, most likely from Glenkinchie Distillery. (Kincaple Distillery was founded in the 1770s by Robert Stein and went bankrupt in 1788; it was reopened by William Haig in 1795 and ceased production in 1804). Other brands included in the Malts of Scotland range comprised whiskies from the distilleries associated one way or another with Invergordon. We are almost certain that Ferintosh whisky was sourced from Tamnavulin, Druichan from Bruichladdich and Craignure from Jura.
