Tullibardine Distillery sits in the village of Blackford in Perthshire surrounded by hills. Its name translates from the Gaelic to ’lookout hill’ and refers to the small medieval chapel located close to the distillery. Tullibardine Distillery was built in 1949 on site of a brewery and in its short history changed ownership several times, last time in 2011, when the French company Picard Vins & Spiritueux took over. Two years later the new owners have announced a relaunch of Tullibardine core range with major makeover of presentation and spirit with Sovereign as the new entry-level expression – young single malt whisky aged solely in first fill ex-bourbon barrels.
