Clear Creek Distillery was founded by Steve McCarthy in 1985 in Portland, Oregon.
Originally produced eau-de-vie from fruits, especially pears, whisky distillation started in the early 1990s with the mission to recreate the style of Islay single malt Scotch. The whisky is distilled from 100% barley imported from Scotland, malted to phenols’ specification of 30-40ppm in a Holstein pot still using one pass distillation and aged in air-dried Oregon oak barrels for three years. McCarthy’s Oregon single malt scored number of medals and awards, most recently gold at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirit Competition. In 2014 the distillery was acquired by Hood River Distillers and relocated to Hood River. Our bottle is part of batch # W 09-01 released in August 2009.
