Arran Distillery has been producing whisky for little over than 20 years (since 1995) and released more than 20 wood expressions. After sherry, port, rum and various wine barrel expressions, the company decided for Lepanto PX brandy cask finish. Lepanto, Brandy de Jerez, is double distilled in pot stills exclusively from locally grown Palomino grapes and aged in barrels previously used for sherry wine. It is a product of Gonzáles Byass, one of the most famous Spanish bodegas. The single cask expression of Arran Lepanto PX Brandy Cask Finish was bottled at natural strength of 59% abv and released in January 2006 with an outrun of 785 bottles.
