There is a little confusion about Macduff – Glen Deveron relation, fact is that official bottlings from Macduff Distillery have been released under Glen Deveron brand while Independent Bottlers keep using distillery’s name.
Macduff Distillery was founded in 1962 and 10 years later taken over by William Lawson Distillers, then part of Martini & Rossi, which latter merged with Bacardi. Macduff spirit has been main component of William Lawson’s blend and since Bacardi’s acquisition of John Dewar’s & Sons the entire Dewar’s range as well. Glen Deveron 10 years old was part of the distillery’s core range until 2015.
