Glenrothes Select Reserve was introduced in 2005, as the first non-vintage expression from this Speyside distillery, and has been part of the core range ever since.
According to the distillery statement Glenrothes’ popularity has grown hugely over the last five years what caused limited inventory of matured whisky (only 2% of production is bottled as single malt). Select Reserve was an idea of retired malt master (John Ramsey), to capture the essence of Glenrothes by selecting various casks from various vintages. In 2008 Select Reserve was named the best Speyside single malt whisky without age statement.
