Ballechin is a name of the farm distillery, which operated in neighborhood of Edradour Distillery until 1927.
In 2006 the brand returned on the market as a heavily peated expression of Edradour single malt. Batch # 3 was released in 2008, it was a young whisky aged solely in ex-port barrels. Alike previous batches it was bottled at 46% abv with an outrun limited to 6000 bottles.
Nose: nicely balanced, nutty, peaty with touch of iodine, oranges, apples, hints of ginger and licorice.
Palate: rich, peaty and fruity, apricots, apples, prunes, cinnamon and candied ginger.
Finish: long, peaty and nutty with fruity sweetness.
