Soon after Edradour Distillery was purchased by Signatory Vintage Ltd. the new owners started releasing dozens of expressions with different finishes, some of them single cask.
The 1984 Vintage spent 22 years in refill hogsheads than was transferred for 6 months to ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry butt. Only 703 bottles were filled at 48.3% abv.
Nose: perfect combination of creamy maltiness, raisins, walnuts, dark chocolate, hints of leather and nutmeg.
Palate: rich and complex, raisins, walnuts, orange liquor, bananas, sherried oak, traces of tobacco and leather.
Finish: long, initially fruity and sweet, soon becoming dry and oaky with hints of leather.
