The owners wanted to avoid confusion with totally unrelated Knockando Distillery owned by United Distillers (predecessor of Diageo). The whisky is aged almost exclusively in white American oak and makes a perfect example of everyday, unsophisticated yet very pleasant dram.
Nose: smooth, sweet cereal, honey, lemon and green oak.
Palate: light and smooth, toasted bread, honey, citrus and a dash of spice.
