A characteristic blended malt whisky produced by Nikka. Its formula is based on spirits distilled at Yoichi distillery on the island of Hokkaido, complemented by the spirits from Miyagikyo distillery on the island of Honshu. The whisky is called “Black”, as it is produced with the use of highly peated malt, which gives it a rich and peaty flavour. Composed from spirits matured for about 5 years in traditional oak casks. Pure Malt Black is sold in characteristic bottles resembling somewhat old fashioned medicine bottles.
