The Johnny Drum brand is part of Kentucky Bourbon Distillers (better known as Willett) brand portfolio.
Willet Distillery resumed distillation in 2012 but Johnny Drum was introduced in the 1980s and most certainly it is sourced bourbon. The brand is named after young Kentuckian, who joined the Confederate Army but was too young to carry gun and served as a drummer boy. At the end of the war he returned to Kentucky where he grew corn and distilled whiskey. The current Johnny Drum range consists of 3 expressions: Green Label, Black Label and Private Stock. The latter is aged for a minimum of 4 years and bottled at 101 Proof (50.5% abv) in small batches. It scored gold medal at the 2010 World Spirit Competition.
