Ezra Brooks bourbon was introduced in the 1950s by the Hoffmann Distilling Company. In the 1970s the brand was acquired by Medley Distilling Co. who sold it to St. Louis, Missouri based David Sherman in 1993.
The latter changed its name to Luxco Inc. in 2006. Ezra B. is a single barrel expression of Ezra Brooks; the whiskey comes from undisclosed Kentucky distillery however many believe it was distilled at Heaven Hill. The bourbon presented here comes from barrel no. 509 and was bottled in January 2014. In 2018 Luxco opened own distillery in Bardstown (Lux Row Distillers) and Ezra Brooks has been distilled there ever since.
