Jest to wyjątkowa amerykańska whiskey, destylowana w gorzelni Jim Beam, w Clermont, w stanie Kentucky. Jej historia sięga 1796 roku, kiedy Master Distiller Basil Hayden złamał zasady produkcji bourbona i do zacieru oprócz kukurydzy dosypał sporą ilość żyta. Whiskey do dzisiaj produkowana jest w ten sposób i posiada najbardziej "żytni" aromat z wszystkich bourbonów. Basil Hayden's należy do kolekcji "Small batch whiskey", stworzonej przez Bookera Noe, wnuka Jima Beama. Komponowana jest ze specjalnie wyselekcjonowanych destylatów, starzonych w nowych beczkach przez co najmniej 8 lat. 

Aromat: wyważony i lekko pikantny z nutami mięty pieprzowej, herbaty, miodu, imbiru, dębu, żyta i grejpfruta

Smak: bogaty z nutami czarnego pieprzu, miodu, skórki z pomarańczy, mięty, siana, palonego dębu, imbiru i żyta

Finisz: wytrawny z nutami wanilii, chili i dębu
