Distillers Edition Series was launched in 1998 as a supplement to very popular Classic Malts range.
Each of six classic single malts was finished in different type of wood, in case of Talisker the choice was sherry wood. After years spent in refill bourbon casks the whisky was transferred into ex-Amoroso sherry butts for the final period of maturation (Amoroso is a medium-dry sherry of Spain made of Palomino and Pedro Ximénez varieties, similar in character to Oloroso). Talisker 2008 Vintage was included into 2018 Distillers Edition range. In 2014 Talisker broke into top 10 best selling single malts, in 2018 the brand sales exceeded 3 million bottles.
