In 2019 Knockdhu Distillery celebrated its 125th Anniversary. The distillery built in 1893 by DCL (Distillers Company Limited) sits in the picturesque village of Knock in Aberdeenshire, in the north east corner of Scotland.
Since 1988 Knockdhu Distillery has been owned by Inver House Distillers and equipped with a single pair of stills can produce 2 million liters of spirit per annum. In 1993 the owners re-branded Knockdhu single malt to AnCnoc. AnCnoc 16 years old was launched in 2008 and remains part of the core range (bottled at 46% abv). The limited Anniversary edition from 2019 comprises whisky aged exclusively in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at natural strength of 56.3% abv. Only 500 bottles were produced.
