Smoky Scot is a whisky brand from Aceo Ltd portfolio, the company founded in 1999 by Edward Odim.
In 2013 they acquired independent bottler Murray McDavid from the owners of Bruichladdich Distillery when the latter was sold to Rémy Cointreau. Aceo is headquartered at the site of Coleburn Distillery, which ceased operations in 1985 and uses the plant’s warehouses for its own cask storage. Smoky Scot presented here was distilled in Caol Ila Distillery and aged in American oak barrels for five years. It is an example of young and vibrant Islay malt for very competitive price.
