Suntory Toki is a blended whisky from the company three distilleries – Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. “Toki” means time in Japanese and the whisky represents tradition as well as innovation.
While Suntory blends mostly use Yamazaki malt as their backbone in case of Toki the Suntory master blender, Shinji Fukuyo, chose Hakushu white American oak casks as one of the blend’s two pillars. The second pillar is Chita heavy-type grain whisky. To give the blend greater depth and complexity Fukuyo selected two Yamazaki malts – white American oak casks and European oak ex-sherry casks. Toki shows perfect balance between malt and grain components and is perfectly suitable to be served neat or over ice.
