Dufftown is one of the biggest malt distilleries in the Diageo’s portfolio capable of distilling 6 million liters of spirit per annum.
Although over 95% of the output goes for blending the Singleton of Dufftown launched in 2006 keeps gaining market share. The 15 years old expression was launched in 2011 for the European market as an addition to the standard 12 years old. The whisky was mainly aged in white American oak with a little addition of European oak.
Nose: rich and smooth, oranges, peaches, orange zest, vanilla, honey, traces of oak shavings and hay.
Palate: nicely balanced, slightly nutty, oranges, cherries, milk chocolate, honey, breakfast cereals, hints of pepper and oak.
Finish: medium long, sweet and malty, honey roasted nuts, dash of pepper.
