Maker’s Mark, one of the most popular bourbons of our times (over 1.5 million cases sold annually), has always had strong connection with Kentucky horse racing and their latest release commemorates 2017 Triple Crown winning racehorse Justify.
The Triple Crown is a hat trick victory over three major horse racing events – The Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. In the last 142 years of horse racing history only 13 horses achieved the trophy (the previous one was Pharoah in 2015). For the Justify special release the trademark Maker’s Mark red wax has been replaced with bright green and the bottle is inscribed in colors of Justify’s green, white and black jockey silks worn in the Kentucky Derby by Mike Smith.
