After selling Cooley and Kilbeggan distilleries to Beam Suntory in 2011 the Teelings keep employing various casks for finishing maturation including cognac, wine, beer and rum.
Here we have pretty unique whiskey finished in Plantation Rum casks (the range of Planation rums consists of highest quality rums from Guyana, Barbados and Jamaica). The whiskey was matured for about six years in ex-bourbon casks then was transferred into ex-Plantation rum casks for additional 12 months. Teeling Plantation Rum Cask Finished was released in December 2018 as part of ‘Small Batch Collaboration’ range with an outrun of 12,000 bottles.
