The Old Particular range was introduced in September 2013 by Fred Laing, soon after he parted ways with his brother and business partner Stewart splitting the portfolio of Douglas Laing & Co.
In the late 2018 the company announced an extension to the range, the Elements Collecton, which celebrates the role of four Elements – Fire, Air, Earth and Water – in whisky making cycle. The packaging for these special bottlings depicts an intricate illustration of each of the four Elements. The series launches with the “Fire” bottling, a 12 years old Craigellachie from characterful sherry butt. The whisky was distilled in June 2006 and bottled at natural strength of 54.3% abv in December 2018 with an outrun of 366 bottles.
