In the late 2018 Diageo in cooperation with HBO Inc. released Game of Thrones whisky range featuring eight single malts .
Each paired with one of the iconic Houses of Westeros as well as the Night’s Watch, giving fans taste of the Seven Kingdoms and beyond. The whisky series was launched to commemorate the eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones”. House Greyjoy rules the Iron Islands and worships the Drowned God. Talisker was a natural pairing for House Greyjoy as this single malt is distilled on the shores of Isle of Skye, one of the most remote and rugged areas of Scotland. Whisky for that edition was aged in heavily charred white American oak barrels and features the sigil of House Greyjoy, kraken.
Nose: peat smoke, see breeze, sea salt, black pepper, cocoa powder, apples, gooseberries, tobacco leaves and hints of charred oak.
Palate: pleasantly smoky, salted caramel, honey, chili chocolate, licorice, pears, pepper, oak char and touch of dried herbs.
Finish: long, smoky and maritime, salted nuts, caramel, licorice, tobacco and dash of pepper.
