In 2017 the Glenfiddich brand broke another sales record with 1.21 million cases sold worldwide (a 9.5% increase compared to the previous year).
To meet the growing demand the company decided to build another distillery on the grounds and if everything will go according to plan it will go into production in 2019. The combined distilling capacity will increase to 18-20 million liters of spirit per annum. Glenfiddich Rum Cask Finish was introduced in 2002 as Havana Reserve and it has been part of the range ever since however its name changed more then once. Batch # 60 released in the late 2018 comprises whisky aged for a minimum of 21 years including finishing period spent in ex-Caribbean rum casks.
Nose: sweet and citrusy, oranges, tangerines, pineapples, coconut flakes, vanilla, honey, white chocolate, butterscotch and touch of oak.
Palate: smooth, butterscotch, vanilla, honey, crème brûlée, nectarines, candied orange peel, marzipan, cinnamon, cloves, and subtle oaky bitterness.
Finish: pretty long, with notes of citrus, honey, sugared nuts, mulling spices and oak.
