Amrut Distilleries Ltd is located in Bangalore and produces roughly 50 million bottles of distilled alcoholic beverages per annum, mainly rum, gin, vodka and blended whiskies.
Besides column stills the distillery is equipped with a single pair of small pot stills capable of producing 200,000 liters of spirit annually. Amrut constantly experiments with various casks and aging techniques. In 2018 they released the first Indian single malt finished in ex-Madeira casks. The distillery team travelled to Madeira Islands to hand pick 40 years old barrels that had aged the right type of Madeira that would compliment Amrut’s signature characters. Only 4800 bottles were produced.
