Bumbu is a brand of rum manufactured in Barbados. The local Bumbu Rum Company produces a rum in a traditional distillery that was founded back in 1893.
It uses a perfect-quality local water and sugar cane grown all over the Caribbean, not limiting its place of origin only to Barbados. Distillation takes place in column stills.
Bumbu X.O. is a rum manufactured in Panama and matured there in oak casks. Bumbu X.O. spends as long as 18 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks, after which it undergoes additional maturation (so-called wood finishing) in Spanish ex-sherry casks. Its bouquet offers notes of toffee, toasted oak, vanilla, orange peel, raisins, spices and a hint of coffee.
