The peated expression of Glen Moray was introduced in 2015 and is currently part of Elgin Classic range.
It was distilled from lightly peated malt (14ppm phenols) and aged exclusively in American oak barrels. The whisky is bottled without age statement just like the Classic version – in fact Glen Moray Peated is a Classic expression with a smoky twist, a great introduction to peated whiskies. Glen Moray started distilling peated spirit in 2009; in 2016 produced several batches of heavily peated spirit (50ppm), total of 250 000 liters. Sales of Glen Moray brand have been recently on the rise; in 2015 they reached 1.2 million bottles.
