In 2008 Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy sold Glen Moray Distillery to another French company, La Martiniquaise.
The latter owns Label 5, the 10th best selling Scotch blended whisky, with Glen Moray as its backbone. La Martiniquaise soon discovered quite a big potential of Glen Moray brand and put a lot of effort for building an attractive range. The Elgin Classic series debuted in 2014 and includes relatively young whiskies aged and finished in various types of wood and bottled without age statement. The Sherry Cask Finish expression was added to the range in 2016; the whisky aged in American oak casks was finished in ex-Oloroso sherry casks for 8 months.
