Although Edradour produces roughly 130,000 liters of spirit per annum their product range includes dozens of expressions.
Straight from the Cask series featuring Edradour malt aged in wine barrels and bottled at cask strength. The whiskies are presented in handsome wooden boxes. Straight from the Cask is a perfect example how wine and whisky can compliment each other. The whisky presented here was distilled on October 11, 2006 and aged in ex-Madeira cask no. 343 for over 11 years. Bottled at natural strength of 58.8% abv on January 9, 2018 with an outrun of 955 bottles. Madeira is a fortified wine made in the Portuguese Madeira Islands, off the coast of Africa. Approximately 85% of Madeira is produced with the red grape Negra Mole.
Nose: red berries, ripe apples, raisins, bananas, shortbread, toffee, milk chocolate and hints of cinnamon and cloves.
Palate: mixed berries marmalade, candied orange peel, apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, cappuccino, hints of white pepper and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of red berries, bananas, peaches, white pepper and oak.
