Pusser’s brand is strictly connected with the British seafaring traditions. Traditionally, on the Royal Navy ships, each sailor received a certain amount of rum daily, rationed by the ship’s purser.
The word “purser” was eventually turned into “pusser” by sailors, which was used as the rum’s brand name. The Pusser’s Rum Limited was founded nearly a decade after the mournful fact of giving up the time-honoured tradition in the Royal Navy, which happened on 31st July 1970. Heartbroken sailors called it the Black Tot Day. It took them until 1979 to wait for an opportunity to recall the taste of good old days – all thanks to Pusser’s Rum Ltd. To begin with, five different rums from Western Indies (i.e. the Caribbean) were blended together, on the basis of an original recipe from the Royal Navy.
Pusser’s Original Spiced Premium Spirit Drink is a blend of Caribbean rums and Caribbean spices. Its bouquet offers notes of cinnamon, ginger, dried fruits, caramel, cane sugar and citrus fruit.
