Laphroaig Brodir (‘brodir’ means ‘brother’ in the ancient Norse) was introduced in 2012. It was a limited edition (2000 bottles) of 13 years old whisky sold exclusively on the Viking Line ferries. Two years later Brodir was re-launched as non-age statement whisky finished in ex-port casks and bottled in small batches. Batch 001 was available only in European Travel Retail outlets and earned great reviews, no wonder Batch 002 followed in 2015 and was distributed through the same channels. Since the spring 2016 Brodir has not been bottled in batches anymore and is available globally for Travel Retail customers. The whisky is aged in white American oak barrels and finished in ex-Ruby Port casks and bottled at 48% abv.
