Amador Whiskey Co. was founded in 2010 by Trinchero Family Estates, owners of more than 40 wine and spirits brands with headquarters in Santa Helena, Napa Valley, California.
Amador Double Barrel is the second whiskey release form Trinchero, a Kentucky bourbon aged in charred white American oak barrels for three to ten years and finished in the “Trinchero family’s Napa Valley estate wine barrels for approximately six months” (the type of wine that was stored in those barrels has not been disclosed). The whiskey was launched in the summer of 2015 and the edition was limited to content of 280 barrels. It takes its name from Amador County, a Northern California region best known for production of Zinfandel wines.
