Oregon Spirit Distillers was founded in 2009 by former bartender Brian Irwin, in Bend, Oregon. Brian is a great whiskey aficionado with passion for distilling various styles of whiskey.
The company is “grain to glass” operation and produces bourbon, rye and wheat whiskeys using the local agriculture. Wheat, rye and barley are grown locally in the Oregon’s high desert and corn comes form the Oregon Willamette Valley. Oregon Spirit Distillers Wheat Whiskey is distilled from mash composed of winter wheat, rye and malted barley, aged in new white American oak barrels for four years and bottled at 90 proof (45% abv). The whiskey scored gold medal at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Nose: buttered toast, raisins, mixed berries marmalade, baked apples, cinnamon, cloves, caramel, hints of vanilla and oak.
Palate: brown sugar, orange peel, plums, black cherries, buttered toast, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and hints of toasted oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of mulling spice, dark berries, caramel and oak.
