Crown Royal has been by far the best selling Canadian whisky brand with almost 7 million cases sold annually worldwide.
In recent years Diageo, the brand owner, spent a lot of money and marketing efforts extending Crown Royal range. In April 2016 the company introduced Cornerstone Blend, forerunner of the Noble Collection series. The blend consists of three whiskies produced at the company Valleyfield Distillery – 61% of “bourbon style” whisky made of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley; 6% of Coffey rye featuring the same mashbill (distilled in Coffey still) and 33% of high-rye whisky, at 96% rye and 4% malted barley. Although bottled without age statement the youngest whisky in the blend is 8 years old.
