Grooves commemorates the 2018 Ardbeg Day and the marketing and imaginary that accompanies it is the 1960s attitude of peace and love.
Thus “Peat and love” was the slogan for Ardbeg Day celebration around the world. The whisky has been matured in ex-wine casks that have been heavily charred to form heavy grooves in the surface of the wood. We have heard that the casks were sourced from Brown-Forman. We do not know however if these grooves were physically routed into the cask by machine (that was a case of Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select) or were just the effect of intensely charring. Just like its predecessors Ardbeg Grooves is bottled without age statement.
