Mackillop’s Choice is a range of single cask whiskies bottled by Iain Mackillop & Co. The company was founded in 1996 as a subsidiary of Angus Dundee Distillers, the owners of Glencadam and Tomintoul distilleries.
Each cask is selected by Lorne Mackillop, the heir to the Mackillop Clan and the youngest person to be accepted as a Master of Wine by the Institute of Masters of Wine. The North British expression presented here comes from the cask no. 22 filled in November 1978. Bottled at 43% abv in April 1999 for the Italian distributor Moon Import. North British Distillery is owned by Lothian Distillers, a joint venture between Diageo and The Edrington Group with each company holding 50% of shares, and produces 65 million liters of spirit per annum.
