Duncan Taylor & Co., with its head office in Huntly, in the Scottish region of Speyside, renowned for its whisky distilleries, is a predominantly a company specialising in blending and bottling Scotch whisky.
It was actually founded in Glasgow in 1938 as a cask whisky broker, but its dynamic development as an independent bottler began as late as in 2001. Rum selection and bottling is the company’s side business, but all the principles of Scotch bottling are applied here as well. Their rums are bottled as single cask bottlings, with no interference with the spirit itself – no chill-filtering, no dilution and no colouring.
Duncan Taylor Single Cask Guatemala 2007 rum comes from the DARSA Distillery in Guatemala, where it was distilled in a column still. It was bottled straight from the cask in a limited number of 298 bottles in 2016. Its flavours include notes of bananas, apricots, candied pineapple, chocolate, butterscotch, pepper, cinnamon and golden syrup.
