Tűzkő Birtok Winery is located in Szekszárd wine region in southern Hungary. It is an ancient wine region, where wine-making can be traced back to Roman times. The first Hungarian kings introduced strict regulations to protect noble wines produced there. The story of the Tűzkő Estate goes back to the early 1990s, when Hungary started political and economic transformation and private cellars begun to replace big, state-owned and quantity oriented wineries.
Their red wines have been drawing attention in recent years and Tűzkő Talentum stays on the top of the list. It is so called Rare Red Blend made of Cabernet Franc and Kéfrankos varieties harvested between September 25 and October 25 and matured in barrique barrels for 14 months, followed by an aging process in bottles for a year and a half.
Tűzkő Talentum is an excellent blend, full bodied, with lots of dark berries, chocolate and perfectly integrated oakiness. Recommended to serve at 17-18ºC after short breathing period, with beef and Italian dishes.
