Port Askaig is a brand name introduced by Specialty Drinks Ltd. (the company was founded by Sukhinder Singh, the owner of The Whisky Exchange) in 2009.
It is named after the ferry port on the Isle of Islay located very close to Caol Ila Distillery. The company does not disclose, which distillery supplies whisky for Port Askaig brand however many whisky drinkers point to Caol Ila (we’ve heard recently that more than one distillery supplies juice for the brand). Each expression within the range is bottled in small batches, always at natural color and without chill-filtration. Port Askaig 30 years old has been released in limited quantities since 2009.
