The Straight from the Cask range of Edradour has been extremely successful and recently the distillery decided to expand it with several expressions of Ballechin.
Ballechin is a smoky version of Edradour distilled from barley malted to specification of 50ppm phenols. It was introduced in 2006 and gained a lot of followers ever since. Ballechin Straight form the Cask is another example how whisky and wine can complement each other. Here we have Ballechin distilled on January 19, 2004 and aged in ex-Burgundy cask no. 9 for 13 years. Bottled ‘straight from the cask’ unchill-filtered and at natural strength of 52.2% abv on October 10, 2017 with an outrun of 405 bottles.
