Douglas McGibbon & Co. Ltd. was created as a subsidiary of Douglas Laing & Co. in 1947. As a brand it was launched in 1976 with the famous golf ceramic range.
The ‘golf range’ was a tremendous success overseas and in the early 1990s the company was awarded the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement. Douglas Laing & Co. has been a leading independent bottling company as well as a producer of blended and blended malt whiskies. Red Ribbon is a standard, no-nonsense blended whisky that can be enjoyed neat, over ice or with a splash of water. (Official tasting note.)
Nose: vanilla, ginger and nutmeg followed by fresh lemon zest.
Palate: layer upon layer of creamy toffee, with tropical fruits and a touch of coconut.
Finish: delicate spices, mellow almonds, and dark chocolate fused with sweet vanilla.
