In 2008 Brown-Forman Corporation, the owners of Jack Daniel’s Distillery and brand released a limited edition commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Distillery re-opening.
After the State of Tennessee repealed Prohibition, allowing counties to forced it on local level. The state of Tennessee passed a prohibition law in 1910 and Jack Daniel’s moved its operation first to Alabama, then to Missouri. Ten years later the 18th Amendment banned manufacturing and consumption of alcoholic beverages at the federal level. In 1933 the national prohibition was repealed but some states, including Tennessee, kept the ban in force. Lem Motlow, who became state senator, led efforts to repeal the state prohibition law and finally, after five long years, in 1938, Jack Daniel’s Distillery was allowed to restart production.
The bottles were designed by Michael Osborne Design Studio as were the silver badges mounted onto each bottle.
