It is said that Jack Daniel served whiskey to his closest friends from his own personal fine glass monogramed decanters. These were reserved for special occasions and special people.
With this in mind the distillery released the Monogram bottle in 2009 exclusively for the State of Tennessee. However introduced in Tennessee in 2009 the story of the Monogram bottlings goes back to 1998, when it was released internationally and then re-released in 2004. All three versions are almost identical, the only variation seems to be in the design of their caps: the original edition came with a smooth, silver cap; in 2004 the cap was still silver but had a ribbed surface; finally the US edition came with black ribbed cap. The bottle in our collection was part of the 2004 international release. The presentation as well as the name ‘Monogram’ was an idea of Michael Osborne Design. The bottle itself is considered as one of the most distinctive bottles of Jack Daniel’s and soon after its release it was granted a Clear Choice Award.
