Westland Distillery, founded in 2010 by Matt Hoffmann and Emerson Lamb, is located in Seattle in Washington State. Since it’s founding the distillery production has grown significantly, from five barrels a week to six barrels a day. In the late 2016 Westland Distillery was acquired by the French drink company Rèmy Cointreau, which four years earlier purchased Bruichladdich Distillery. Westland single malt debuted in 2013 and within next three years scored six gold medals at various International Whisky Competitions. Westland American Oak, the distillery flagship, is made of five roasted and kilned barley malts, the base of which is pale malt locally grown, and aged in heavily charred American oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months.
