Rhetoric 20 years old was launched in June 2014 as part of Diageo The Orphan Barrel Whiskey Project, a collection of unique whiskeys “found” in the company warehouses.
Rhetoric 21 years old was introduced in 2015 and 22 years old expression followed the next year. The whiskey was distilled in “old” and “new” Bernheim Distillery (the distillery was completely demolished and rebuilt in 1991-92, thus descriptions “Old Bernheim” and “New Bernheim”) and aged in Stitzel-Weller Distillery and later in Diageo’s facility in Tennessee. Diageo plans to release Rhetoric every year until 2019 with the final bottling to be 25 years old. It looks like with the 22 years old expression we are half way through.
