Jameson is by far the most popular Irish whiskey brand; in fact, with annual sales north of 5.3 million cases it is responsible for roughly 2/3 of the entire Irish whiskey category.
It is worth to note that the Jameson brand debuted in 1963, before the whiskey was sold through brokers usually branded as Dublin Whiskey. ‘Jameson Crested is a celebration of the first drops of whiskey that were bottled, sealed and labeled at the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin’ (the location of the original Jameson Distillery). It is a blend of grain and pot still whiskeys, with high proportion of sherry wood aged pot still whiskey. Jameson Crested was launched in March 2016 as a part of the newly revamped product range.
