Bodega Torres was founded in 1870 in Vilafranca del Penedès, a unique region of Catalonia. Ever since it became the first area in Spain to use stainless steel vats and cold fermentation equipment. Currently Torres has more than 1300 hectares of own vineyards and five wineries including three in homeland of Catalonia. Torres wines are available in 150 countries. Altos Ibéricos takes its name from Alto Otero, a beautiful place where the winery is situated in the town of Labastida in the La Rioja region. La Rioja is the oldest vine growing and wine-producing region in Spain with evidence dating back to the 2nd Century B.C. In 1991 La Rioja was awarded with nomination making it the first Spanish Denominación de Origen Calificada.
Torres Altos Ibéricos 2015 was produced with 100% Tempranillo grapes and aged for 12 months in oak barrels and for a long time in a bottle.
The wine has deep ruby color and fruit forward palate, cherries, plums, raspberries, dash of pepper and delicate notes of tobacco and oak.
Makes great pairing with roasted leg of lamb, skewers and smoked meats. Recommended serving temperature 15-16ºC.
