Linwood Distillery has been producing whisky since 1821 but it remains fairly unknown. After recent expansion completed in 2013 its distilling capacity increased to 5.6 million liters of spirit per annum. The distillery is owned by Diageo and roughly 98% of the output goes to the company’s extensive portfolio of blended whiskies. The only widely available official bottling was 12 years old, part of Flora & Fauna series. The 15 years old expression, part of Gordon & MacPhail Distillery Labels range, contains whisky aged in refill sherry casks.
