Inchgower is a descendant of Tochineal Distillery established by Alexander Wilson just a couple of miles down the road. In 1871 Wilson built Inchgower Distillery and installed the equipment from Tochineal. In 1936 Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery and Inchgower malt has been closely associated with Bell’s brand ever since. After 2012 extensive upgrade the distillery produces a little over 3 million liters of spirit per annum, but only about 1% is bottled as single malt. The 2002 Vintage, released in 2015 as part of Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice range comprises whisky aged refill sherry hogsheads.
