Arran Distillery has been working with various wood finishes right from the very beginning. After conducting countless number of experiments the owners set on Port, Sauternes and Amarone finishes as part of the core range. The summer of 2016 brought Madeira Cask Finish, called by the distillery ‘guest cask finish’ and not a permanent addition to the range. The whisky was matured in traditional oak casks for unspecified period of time and then transferred to Madeira wine casks ‘sourced from an artisan producer of this fortified wine from the Portuguese island of Madeira’. The whisky was bottled without age statement at 50% abv.
